The Kestener Herrenberg is one of our oldest Pinot Noir sites. Even in earlier times, red growths were produced in the Kesten vineyards long after the Moselle had changed from a red wine region to a white wine region. The wine itself is always characterised by a high degree of complexity but also fineness, although it usually needs a little more maturity than the Paulinsberg. Here, too, the aroma spectrum oscillates between wild herbs and berries, wild cherry and wild strawberries, supported by a good acid structure.
